Movie Summary

Democratic Congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) of North Carolina's 14th District is running for his fifth term unopposed. However his campaign is damaged when his image as a law-abiding Christian husband is shattered by the revelation of his affair with one of his supporters, when Cam accidentally leaves a sexually explicit voice message on a local family's phone.

Corrupt businessmen, brothers Glen (John Lithgow) and Wade Motch (Dan Aykroyd), use this opportunity to convince Marty Huggins (Zack Galifianakis), tourism director for the town of Hammond and son of one of their associates, Raymond Huggins (Brian Cox), to run against Cam on the Republican ticket, as part of a plan to profit from illegal dealings with Chinese companies. Cam at first underestimates Marty and humiliates him by playing a video biography highlighting Marty's dim-witted nature. The Motch Brothers then hire Tim Wattley (Dylan McDermott) to be Marty's campaign manager. Tim reinvents Marty as a successful entrepreneur and family man. Marty's popularity rises due to his effective campaign while Cam's is further damaged when he accidentally punches a baby. Cam later runs a campaign portraying Marty as an Al Qaeda terrorist, and Marty exposes Cam as a fake Christian by asking him to recite the Lord's Prayer, which he fails to do. Cam attempts to restore his religious image by visiting a church of snake handlers, but he gets bitten by a snake. A video of the bite is leaked into the Internet and goes viral, increasing Cam's popularity.

When Cam's son plans to slander his competition for class president, Cam realizes he has set a bad example and visits Marty to make peace. A drunken Cam tells Marty that he originally became a politician to help people, citing that as class president he had a dangerous, rusty slide removed from the playground. After Cam leaves, Wattley convinces Marty to call the police and report Cam for driving while drunk. Cam is arrested and his campaign is again damaged. Marty then portrays Cam as dim-witted by publishing a "communist manifesto" that Cam had written in 2nd grade, and later showing a video of Cam's son addressing Marty as "dad". A furious Cam attacks Marty, resulting in Cam accidentally punching Uggie, the dog from "The Artist," once more suffering in his popularity levels. Cam gets revenge on Marty by seducing his neglected wife Mitzy (Sarah Baker) and recording the act. The released the sex tape humiliates the Huggins family, and causes Cam's campaign manager Mitch (Jason Sudeikis) to abandon him. Marty retaliates by shooting Cam in the leg on a hunting trip, increasing his own popularity.

As the election nears, Marty meets with the Motch Brothers and learns of their plans to sell Hammond to their Chinese business partner and turn the town into a large series of factories. Marty realizes he has been used and rejects the Motch Brothers' support. The Motch brothers offer Cam their support instead to preserve their plans. Marty meanwhile reconciles with his family.

On election day Cam's victory appears to be certain until Marty comes forward and exposes the Motch Brothers' intent and promises to preserve Hammond if elected. Cam still wins and remains congressman due to rigged voting machines owned by the Motch brothers. While Cam gloats, Marty shows his large scars to Cam and reveals that he looked up to Cam in school for getting rid of the dangerous slide. Realising he has swayed from his true objectives as a politician, Cam withdraws from the election and Marty wins by default. Cam earns back Mitch's respect, and Marty appoints him his chief of staff.

Six months later, Marty and Cam expose the Motch brothers scandals and the Brothers are called to appear before the Congress. The Motch brothers point out that everything they did is legal under Citizens United, but they are arrested for their association with Wattley, who is actually an international fugitive known as "The Greek Butcher." Marty and Cam celebrate their friendship as the Motch Brothers are carried away to jail.

Movie Summary

Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) is a member of Operation Outcome, one of the Department of Defense's black ops programs,[4] which provides its agents with green pills that enhance physical abilities and blue pills that enhance mental abilities. He is given the moniker of "Number Five" and is deployed to Alaska for a training assignment, where he meets another Outcome operative, Number Three (Oscar Isaac). Their exchange is initially intense, as Number Three questions Cross as to why he is two days ahead of schedule for their rendezvous. Cross explains to him that he had to take a shortcut through a mountain ridge after having lost his kit of program essentials during his travels, including his requisite bloodwork he draws on schedule to send back to Outcome for analysis. This confounds Number Three, as the mountain ridge is generally acknowledged as being extremely difficult for agents to essay even when assisted with a program kit, yet Cross has done so in record time without one, a fact that ostensibly irritates Number Three, since it is implied that Cross has bested Number Three's unofficial "record". After a further exchange in which Number Three agrees to re-package send some of his bloodwork and label it Cross's, both men call an uneasy, implied truce to their tension. A fast-moving blizzard is on the horizon, and Number Three says Cross can stay an extra day, since he won't be able to get ahead of it, despite his early arrival. While lying in bed that evening, Cross happens to notice a number of carvings done in the woodwork above his head, including one of the name "Jason Bourne".

Meanwhile, Bourne is exposing Operation Blackbriar and the Treadstone Project, leading to CIA Deputy Director Pamela Landy (Joan Allen) and Operation Blackbriar supervisor Noah Vosen (David Strathairn) being investigated by the FBI. Upon learning of this, CIA Director Ezra Kramer (Scott Glenn), also under investigation, calls Eric Byer (Edward Norton), a retired USAF Colonel responsible for overseeing the CIA's clandestine operations, for help.

Byer decides to eliminate all Outcome assets and, upon discovering that both Numbers Three and Five are at the same location, deploys a U-CAV to terminate both agents. Cross's enhanced hearing picks up a faint echo in the distance, and Cross asks Number Three to confirm what he's just heard. He cannot, but he and Cross decide to split up and survey the area separately. Cross exits the cabin moments before the U-CAV missile deployed by Byer's people finds its target location and explodes, instantly killing Number Three. Cross uses a sniper rifle to destroy the U-CAV and, realizing that his superiors have ordered his assassination, goes about removing a tracking device that has been sewn into his abdomen, which he then forces a wolf that attacks him to swallow. Based on the active signal Cross's tracking device still emits, Byer realizes that Cross is still alive and orders a second U-CAV to be deployed to eliminate Cross once and for all. However, the missile keys on the tracking signal inside the wolf and destroys its target, allowing Byer to mistakenly assume that Cross has finally been terminated. He then sets his sights on terminating the remaining Outcome agents across the globe.

Byer issues a mandate to have agent handlers replace the other Outcome assets' green and blue pills with triangular yellow ones that will kill them in a matter of hours, and then goes about capturing one of Outcome's foremost scientists, Dr. Donald Foite (Zeljko Ivanek), chemically brainwashing him to shoot and kill his other colleagues, one-by-one in the Outcome research lab. The only survivor of the massacre is Dr. Marta Shearing (Rachel Weisz), who escapes after Foite commits suicide in order to avoid being questioned by security. Shearing is later attacked in her house by CIA agents ordered to kill her, but is rescued by Cross, who convinces her to help him after explaining who he is. Shearing reveals that Cross was genetically modified to retain the benefits of the green pills without need of continuous consumption, a process they call "viraling off". Because he hasn't taken a blue pill in several days, Cross realizes that he will soon lose his mental enhancement. He then coerces Shearing to travel to Manila with him, as the pills are manufactured there, in the hopes of being able to viral off the blue pills in the same manner he did the green.

On the way to Manila, Cross reveals to Shearing that he is actually Kenneth J. Kitsom, a U.S. Army soldier who was "killed" by a roadside bomb in the Iraq War and then offered an opportunity to serve his country via the Outcome program. Meanwhile, Byer continues to hunt down Shearing and discovers that she has been aided by Cross. From security intelligence gathered at major transportation hubs across the country, Byer deduces that Cross and Shearing have departed the US and are travelling to Manila, where the pills are manufactured, ostensibly to help Cross attempt to viral off the blue pills. Byers decides to activate Larx-03 (Louis Ozawa Changchien), the ultimate Outcome super soldier, who has had the viralling off process done for both the blue and green pills and has been programmed to become a completely lethal and emotionless killer. Larx-03 is deployed to Manila to eliminate Cross & Shearing while Cross is still presumably weak from the viraling off process. Byer also learns that Landy is expected to face charges for assisting Bourne, while Vosen is expected to be declared innocent and returned to duty.

In Manila, Cross and Shearing arrive at the factory where the pills are produced and Shearing administers to Cross the blue-pill viralling off procedure. Byer contacts the factory's supervisor and orders a lockdown, but Cross and Shearing are able to escape before Larx arrives and take shelter in a local apartment, where Shearing helps Cross through his recovery from the process, during which he hallucinates on his recruitment to Outcome, ironically achieved under Byer's direction.

The following day, Larx-03 informs the local police of Cross' location while Shearing is away buying medicine. She is able to warn Cross, who has now fully recovered from the process, and he escapes from the police and rescues Shearing before they steal a motorcycle and escape, pursued by Larx. After a chase through the streets and marketplaces of Manila, Shearing kicks Larx-03 off from his motorcycle and into a pillar, killing him upon impact, while Cross' damaged motorcycle swerves off of the road and onto a river. Cross and Shearing are later rescued by a boatman and bribe him with a stolen golden watch into taking them to a ferry, which they board, departing to places unknown.

Movie Summary

The film begins with a Heffley family outing to the local public pool to start off the summer despite the fact that school has not ended. While there Greg is disgusted by several things such as how crowded it is, the public bathrooms, and how people eat and urinate in the pool. While at the pool the Heffley family meets a former trouble making friend of Rodrick who has become a model student after attending Spag Union, a strict prep-reformatory school starting in the eighth grade. Greg's father, Frank Heffley, mentions aloud Greg is in the eighth grade and ponders sending him there.

On the last day of school Greg attempts to get Holly Hills to put her phone number in his yearbook in addition to signing it. However she is forced to leave before she can put the last two numbers in. Meanwhile Rodrick, who is advertising his band at Greg's school, falls in love with Holly's mean older sister Heather Hills but is rejected when she runs over his foot. Greg is disappointed that he failed to get Holly's number and that she only referred to him as only a good friend, which Rodrick states is the "kiss of death."

The next day Greg explains he intends to play video games all summer while maintaining the illusion he is spending time outdoors to please his father, however his plan quickly fails. In retaliation Greg's father bans television and video games for the whole summer. Later Greg's mom, Susan, urges Frank to spend more time with Greg and reminds him of his own neglectful father. Frank attempts to spend time with Greg by taking him to his favorite hobbies, such as fishing and a civil war battle re-enactment but both times Greg accidentally ruins the experience.

Sometime later Greg's best friend, Rowley Jefferson, invites Greg to the country club, which Greg takes a liking to instantly due to the seemingly free food, the sparsely populated pool and the fact Holly teaches tennis there. While at the club he arranges a tennis match the next day between Holly, Rowley and himself despite the fact that he and Rowley have never played tennis. When Greg returns home he finds his father has signed him up for an internship at his job but lies and says he got a job at the country club to get out of it and to go to the country club everyday. The next day at the tennis match it becomes painfully obvious that Greg and Rowley have never played tennis and Holly teaches Greg personally.

At a party at Warren's, a neighbor's, house Greg's dad decides to get a dog for the family and to sign Greg up in the Wilderness Explorers in Troop 133 to teach him responsibility after hearing it worked with Warren's sons. At the same party Rodrick finds out Greg does not have a job and blackmails Greg into sneaking him in to see Heather, though his first attempt to talk to her ends horribly. Frank gets the dog, which Manny names "Sweetie" and who proves to be a handful. Rowley meanwhile invites Greg to a family trip to their beach house near the Boardwalk, an amusement park. When they visit the amusement park Greg convinces Rowley to go on the Cranium Shaker (a roller coaster) despite Rowley's parents making them promise to not go on scary rides. Rowley's parents find out and Rowley is saddened when they state they are disappointed in him. Greg attempts to email his mother asking her to help him leave but accidentally emails everyone on Rowley's dad's contact list and they angrily take him home shortly afterward.

Later when Greg asks Rowley to take him into the Country Club Rowley lies and states he's not going there so Greg sneaks in pretending to be a member of the Jefferson family. He runs into Holly and her sister and manages to get Rodrick's band, Loded Diper, a gig at Heather's Sweet 16 party much to Rodrick's delight. He meets Rowley, who tells him he lied to protect Greg's feelings after his parents didn't want to invite Greg. He and Greg make up however Rowley's father is infuriated that Greg has built a massive smoothie bill and tells Frank, who then finds out Greg does not have a job and is incredibly angry and disappointed. He then states he plans to send Greg to Spag Union, much to Greg and Rodrick's horror. Rodrick says his last chance is the "Wilderness Weekend" where he can attempt to impress his Dad while out on a camping trip. However Troop 133 proves to be weak compared to Troop 42, led by Warren, who claim a camping spot despite the fact Frank got their first. Later Greg and his friends overhear Stan and his sons mocking Greg and his Dad and in revenge Greg attempts to fill Warren's sleeping bag with ants however ends up destroying Warren's expensive tent while revealing that Troop 42 has not been camping but living off electronics. When Greg steps up and takes the blame Frank is impressed and finds out about Troop 42's electronics, angrily confronting him and calling him a phony. Frank then takes his campers to a motel and reveals he never liked camping to Greg. He tells Greg he will not send him to Spag Union and he is proud of him.

At Heather's Sweet 16 Rodrick sings a rock variation of Justin Bieber's "Baby" in an attempt to win over Heather however merely ends up ruining the party. Greg apoligises to Holly however she states she is happy as she felt her sister deserved it. They hold hands as they watch the party fall into ruin, and the final clip is of the Heffleys, Rowley and Holly swimming in the public pool and enjoying the "best summer ever".

Movie Summary

As in the previous films, the protagonists are the mammoth Manny, the sloth Sid, the saber-toothed cat Diego, and, in a parallel storyline, the saber-toothed squirrel Scrat. Scrat's hunt for acorns triggers the break-up of the Pangaea landmass into the continents as we know them today. In the meantime, Manny and his wife Ellie deal with their 19-year-old daughter Peaches who has a crush on Ethan. Peaches' best friend, a molehog named Louis, appears to have a crush on her. When Manny catches Peaches hanging with Ethan after he told her not to, Manny and Peaches have a falling out. Soon after, the breakup of the continent separates Manny from his family. Manny gets stuck on a floating ice raft with Sid, Diego, and Sid's annoying grandmother Granny. A large moving landmass drives Ellie, Peaches, Crash and Eddie, Louis, Ethan, and a herd of other animals towards a land bridge, where they hope to reunite with Manny.

Meanwhile, Scrat, also lost at sea, finds an acorn-shaped map, which leads to a mysterious acorn-filled island. Scrat decides to follow the map and find the island. As he begins his journey, he is captured by a gang of animal pirates on a large ship-shaped iceberg, who are sailing the oceans.

Manny and his friends are also captured by the pirate gang, led by a Gigantopithecus named Gutt. Gutt and the pirate gang attempt to shanghai Manny, telling him to forget his family and former life and join the pirates, but he refuses. Gutt takes this as an insult, and attempts to make the herd walk the plank, but they (along with Scrat, who continues his journey) manage to escape, in the process destroying the pirate ship, and again float on the oceans on a small ice raft. They rescue the female pirate saber-toothed cat Shira, who had been left behind by the pirates. She reluctantly joins the group, stateing that the pirates will come back for her. She and Diego slowly begin to fall in love with each other.

The group reaches an island and encounters a group of hyraxes, as well as the pirates, who are building a new ice ship elsewhere on the same island. The herd plan to steal the ship and use it to get home. The next morning, as the herd is preparing their plan, Shira escapes and rejoins the pirates, but gets reprimanded by Gutt instead of being welcomed back, after Gutt realizes that she had not attacked them. The herd, along with the hyraxes, overtake the new ice ship and, with some help from Shira, sail away. Gutt, in anger, quickly turns a new iceberg into a ship, propelled by narwhals, and chases Manny's gang, determined to get revenge.

Meanwhile, Peaches has been still hanging with Ethan and a group of teenage mammoths, but after realizing that they don't care about the danger and thinking that being a best friend with a molehog is ridiculous, she leaves them and returns to Louis. When Ellie, Peaches, Louis, Crash and Eddie reach the land bridge, they find it to be destroyed. Meanwhile, Manny, Sid, Granny and Diego encounter sirens, depicted as sharp-toothed creatures who take the shape of loved ones and attempt to lure the sailors. Fortunately, Manny realizes this and manages to steer the ship away from the sirens. Later, Scrat meets a siren, which uses the shape of his former girlfriend from the third film, Scratte, to attempt to lure him. When this fails, the siren takes the shape of an acorn, causing Scrat to run up and hug it. The siren changes back and attacks Scrat, but he gets away.

The next morning, Manny, Sid, Diego and Granny finally reach home, but, much to their horror, find out that Gutt and his pirate gang had beaten them to it and captured Ellie and Peaches. Manny attempts to turn himself in to Gutt in exchange for releasing his family, but Gutt doesn't keep his side of the bargain and prepares to kill the family. Louis, come to their rescue, starting a battle, during which Shira rescues Diego, and Granny's presumed imaginary pet Precious, a gigantic Livyatan melvillei, appears, defeating the pirates by spraying them (Caused by Sid blocking her blowhole). Peaches rescues Manny, but as they are about to escape, Gutt attacks him again. Gutt and Manny engage in a final fight, but Manny manages to defeat him. Manny arrives in time to pick up Ellie and Peaches, who are caught between the moving landmass and the ocean at the location where the land bridge once existed. Meanwhile, Gutt is killed when he ends up being devoured by a siren, taking on the shape of a female of his species. After sailing over the ocean, the herd and all the animals find another continent (where the hyraxes have gone, too) which they accept as their new home, that is South America. Manny and Peaches reconcile, Manny finally admits that Sid is not the screw-up after all, Diego and Shira become a couple, and Louis is finally allowed to be with Peaches whenever she hangs out with Ethan's gang.

The film ends with Scrat finally reaching the island on the map, Scratlantis (a Scrat version of Atlantis); a floating city filled with other sabre-toothed squirrels and nuts. However, Scrat, due to his nut obsession, grabs many nuts in a frenzy and eventually attempts to grab a giant one blocking a hole. He grabs it, despite the sabre-toothed squirrel leader's warnings, causing the city to sink to the bottom of the ocean, leaving Scrat in the middle of a desert of Nevada in North America. Scrat's eyes burn, and he screams in pain and frustration.

In daily sessions in his office, Dr. Feld counsels them together, each time asking increasingly frank questions about their sexual fantasies and feelings toward one another. Arnold remains grumpy and skeptical at the whole experience. At Dr. Feld's urging, they make haltering attempts at intimacy on the bed of their budget motel and again in a movie theater, but without mutual satisfaction. Discouraged and depressed, the next day Kay goes alone to a bar while Arnold visits a museum. Arnold finally takes the initiative to take Kay to a romantic dinner and a night at a luxury inn, where they attempt to make love in front of a fireplace, with it being a flop, so to speak. They fly home to Omaha. Kay is pet sitting for a fellow employee and packs her bag to leave and stay there while her friend is out of town; Arnold is not aware she packed her suitcase. She leaves it on the bed to leave the next morning. Arnold, however, comes to her bedroom during the night and they rekindle their relationship finally! Later that year, they renew their wedding vows on a beach with Dr. Feld present, making promises to be more understanding and considerate to each other.

Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Gotham City is in a state of peace. Gordon feels guilty about the cover-up of Harvey Dent's crimes, but decides that the city is not ready to hear the truth. Gordon is shot in the process of escaping and promotes patrol officer John Blake to detective, allowing Blake to report directly to him in the hospital.

As Batman has disappeared from Gotham, so too has Bruce Wayne, locking himself inside Wayne Manor. Wayne Enterprises is crumbling after he invested in board member Miranda Tate's clean energy project, designed to harness fusion power, and shut it down after learning that the core could be modified to become a nuclear weapon. Both Blake—who has deduced Batman's identity—and Gordon implore Batman to return. Bane attacks the stock exchange and bankrupts Bruce, forcing him to relinquish control of Wayne Enterprises. Correctly suspecting that his business rival, John Daggett, employed Bane to aid in this aggressive takeover of his company, Bruce entrusts Tate to keep full control out of Daggett's hands. However, Bane has other plans, and kills Daggett to take control of his construction empire.

Following a trail left by cat burglar Selina Kyle, Batman locates Bane, who says that he took over the League of Shadows following Ra's al Ghul's death. In the following confrontation, Bane physically cripples Batman and places him in a foreign prison from which escape is virtually impossible. The other inmates relate the story of how Ra's al Ghul's child was the only person, through necessity and the sheer force of will, to ever escape the prison. Batman believes that the child grew up to become Bane. Meanwhile, Bane lures most of Gotham's police force underground and sets off explosions across the city, trapping the officers. Using weapons and artillery stolen from Wayne Enterprises' Applied Sciences Division, he turns Gotham into an isolated city-state. Any attempt to leave the city will result in the detonation of the Wayne Enterprises fusion core, now converted into a bomb. Bane publicly reveals the cover-up of Dent's death and releases the prisoners in Blackgate Prison who were prosecuted under the Dent Act. The rich and powerful are forcibly brought before a show trial presided over by Jonathan Crane and given the choice between death and exile.

Over the course of several months, Bruce recovers from his injuries and retrains himself physically. He successfully escapes the foreign prison and returns to Gotham, enlisting Selina, Blake, Tate, Gordon and Lucius Fox to help liberate the city and stop the fusion bomb. As Batman, he subdues Bane, but Tate intervenes and reveals herself to be Ra's al Ghul's daughter Talia. It was she who escaped the prison as a child, returning with her father and the League of Shadows to rescue Bane, the one person who aided her in prison. She plans to complete her father's work by destroying Gotham while avenging his death at Wayne's hands. Gordon blocks the bomb's ability to be remotely detonated while Selina saves Batman by shooting Bane. Batman tries to force Talia to take the bomb to the fusion chamber where it can be stabilized, but she remotely floods the chamber. Talia dies when her truck crashes off the road, but remains confident that the bomb cannot be stopped. Using an aircraft developed by Fox, Batman hauls the bomb beyond the city limits, where it detonates over the ocean and apparently kills him.

Batman is later praised as a hero, while Bruce is presumed killed in the riots. After Bruce's funeral, Blake wants to reveal Batman's identity to the world as a tribute to Bruce, but Gordon reminds him that it is best left as a mystery to the uninformed. Gordon later finds that the Bat-Signal has been repaired. The Wayne estate is divided up to cover any debts, with the manor left in the city's possession to become an orphanage and the rest going to Alfred Pennyworth. Fox discovers that Bruce programmed the autopilot on the aircraft six months ago. Alfred witnesses Bruce and Selina alive together at a café in Italy, while Blake inherits the Batcave.
